How Eira X operates from mission planning through evaluation — five phases, designed for contested environments.
Mission Planning
Operators use Eira's Unreal-based simulator to plan a high-risk or high-value mission. The simulator is populated with mapped data from previous missions in the operational area.
The operator performs terrain and risk assessment, identifies critical points along the route, and rehearses the mission in simulation before deployment. This pre-deployment rehearsal is especially valuable for medical evacuation missions where timing and route selection directly affect survival.
Deployment
The UGV is deployed from a safe logistics node behind the contact line. Human-supervised autonomy is enabled. The vehicle moves silently with low electromagnetic signature, minimizing detection risk by adversary sensors and drones.
Eira X's electric driveline is central to this phase — reduced noise, reduced heat signature compared to conventional ICE platforms.
Autonomous Navigation
The UGV operates in a GNSS-degraded environment. Eira's autonomy stack performs terrain-aware navigation using vision-only perception and SLAM. Remote supervision is maintained where communications allow, but the system is designed to operate when those communications fail.
Operator intervention is possible at any point — the human stays in the loop without being required to drive.
Delivery / Extraction
The mission objective is completed: deliver fuel (e.g., 500 kg to a mechanized battalion), ammunition, or medical supplies to a forward position; or evacuate wounded personnel back to a safer area.
Modular payload architecture means the same platform can be configured for either mission within the same operational day.
Mission Evaluation
After the mission, the operator compares simulator predictions against the real mission. Operator workload, autonomy performance, and route effectiveness are evaluated. Mapping data is updated for future missions in the same area.
This closed-loop evaluation is how Eira's autonomy stack improves over time — each mission becomes training data for the next.
